A man has died from his injuries after he was struck by a tree branch while golfing at Leilehua Golf Course, according to Honolulu police.
First responders say the victim is a 55-year-old man. He was initially transported to nearby Wahiawa General Hospital in critical condition.
The incident occurred at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday during high winds. The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Oahu until 6 p.m. with sustained winds of about 25 to 35 mph and gusts over 40 mph.
The golf course will remain closed for the rest of the day.
