HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The zipper lane on the H-1 freeway eastbound has been shut down on Friday due to a mechanical failure with the Zip Mobile, a Department of Transportation official says.
Crews are currently making repairs, but the DOT says the zipper lane will remain closed throughout the day. The DOT's second Zip Mobile has been broken since before the New Year.
The DOT expects to open the zipper lane on Tuesday as soon as repairs are complete. In the meantime, drivers should leave early to avoid delays.
