Police arrest suspect in connection with Waipahu stabbing death

WAIPAHU, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Police arrested a 71-year-old man on Wednesday in connection with a Waipahu stabbing death.

Jose Inigo is one of two suspects responsible for the homicide of 42-year-old Marlo Basuel who was found stabbed on Kahuanani Street on Sunday, according to police.

The second unidentified suspect has not yet been arrested.

Basuel, who died in the hospital, had apparently been involved in an argument with the two suspects when one of them "inflicted a life-threatening injury" on the victim, police said. Both suspects fled the scene on foot.

HPD has not released any further details regarding the cause of the stabbing.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
