Suspect sought in two gas station store robberies

SALT LAKE, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

The Honolulu Police Department is investigating two robberies on Wednesday involving the same suspect. 

Officers were dispatched to the first incident at approximately 12:45 a.m. to the Tesoro gas station convenience store on Lawehana Street. Initial reports indicate that the suspect demanded money and pulled out a handgun that was tucked in his waistband.

Police responded to a second alert less than an hour later at the Aloha Island Mart on Farrington Highway.

It is not clear how much money and/or merchandise he might have stolen, but no one was harmed during the incidents, police said. 

Police describe the suspect as a "local" male, around 5'2" and wearing a white hoodie, white sweatpants and covering his face with a green handkerchief.
