HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The National Weather Service has extended a High Surf Advisory until 6 a.m. Sunday for the east-facing shores of Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Maui and the Big Island of Hawaii.
Forecasters said short-period easterly and north-northeasterly swells were expected to remain high overnight through early Sunday morning.
Waves of 5 to 8 feet are anticipated along east-facing shores.
Beachgoers should expect strong breaking waves and shorebreak, along with strong longshore and rip currents that will make swimming difficult and dangerous. Heed all advice from Ocean Safety lifeguards.
