Police seek driver who struck elderly pedestrian and fled

KAHALA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are asking for the public's help to gather information regarding a motor vehicle collision that occurred on January 3, 2014, at approximately 7:37 a.m.

The victim, a 94-year-old male, was crossing Waialae Avenue near 5th Avenue when he was struck by an unknown vehicle travelling east on Waialae Avenue. The driver reportedly ran a red light and failed to stop.

The vehicle, a green four-door sedan with damages to the passenger side windshield, was seen fleeing eastbound on Waialae Avenue.

The victim suffered head and internal injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
