Cal-Poly shoots past Hawaii, snaps four-game win streak

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Rainbow Warrior basketball team lost for the first time in five games as Hawaii fell to Cal-Poly, 77-65, Thursday at the Mott Athletics Center.

The defeat snaps Hawaii's four-game winning streak dating back to December.  Junior guard Garrett Nevels led UH with 16 points, but it wasn't enough as four Mustangs scored double-figures to help Cal-Poly shoot 50% from the floor.

With the loss, the Bows fall to 11-4 and 0-1 in the Big West.

Hawaii is back in action Saturday at Cal-State Northridge.
