Unattended bag causes scare at Honolulu International Airport

At 4:03 p.m., all clear given at Honolulu Airport. Authorities say an unattended bag was x-rayed and taken away by the Hickam bomb squad unit for testing. Baggage Claim H and Lobby 8 have reopened and no flights were delayed.

[Update 4:10 p.m.]

The Department of Transportation says that an unattended bag was left on the curbside in front of lobby 8.

Baggage Claim H and lobby 8 have been cordoned off.

As a precaution, the TSA is testing the bag, a canine unit and a bomb squad is also on scene.  No flights are delayed and authorities hope to have the area back opened as soon as possible.

Sheriff's deputies and a bomb squad unit are at the Honolulu International Airport Thursday afternoon near the United Airlines departure area.

Witnesses tell Hawaii News Now authorities are using a robot, and cars are prohibited from passing the area.
