HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii gas price averages ticked up over the past week again throughout most of the islands, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch.
The state average of $3.98 is four cents more than last week, a nickel more than last month and four cents less than on this day last year.
Honolulu's average price is $3.88 a gallon for regular unleaded – up four cents from last week, six cents more than last month and nine cents less than a year ago.
In Hilo, the average gas price is $3.93 per gallon, three cents more than last week, five cents more than last month and seven cents less than this time a year ago.
Wailuku's average is $4.21 a gallon, unchanged from last week, four cents more than last month and 18 cents more on this day last year.
"Monthly price averages around the U.S. show Alaska at $3.66 a gallon for unleaded, California at $3.66, Oklahoma at $3.05 and Montana at $3.02," said AAA Hawaii General Manager Liane Sumida.
