Firefighters respond to Big Island house fire

PAHOA, BIG ISLAND (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Big Island Fire Department responded to a house fire that broke out Thursday on Nehu Street in Hawaiian Beaches.

The fire was reported shortly before 2:40 a.m. By the time firefighters arrived on scene, the 1300-square-foot, single-story property had been fully engulfed in flames. The fire was extinguished by 3:10 a.m.

No injuries or deaths have been reported.

The cause of the fire is unknown and damage is estimated at $70,000.
