Big Island fire rescue crews on Monday recovered the body of a missing fisherman from the Wailuku River.
The body was found shortly before 4 p.m. near the landmark Singing Bridge.
The Hawaii County Fire Department had been searching for the 34-year-old man who had apparently fell into the Wailuku River while fishing from shore Saturday evening.
Bystanders said the man tripped and fell into the water.
HFD units arrived on scene shortly before 6 p.m. Crews searched from land, by boat, and in the water with rescue boards, and scuba along the south bank of the Wailuku River past sunset Saturday evening.
The man's name has not yet been released.
