WAILUKU, MAUI (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A Brown Water advisory is being issued for Honokahua Bay on Maui due to heavy runoff.

The Department of Health advises the public to stay out of flood waters and storm water runoff due to possible overflowing cesspools, sewer manholes, pesticides, animal fecal matter, dead animals, pathogens, chemicals, and associated flood debris.

Turbid water runoff have been known to attract sharks due to possible dead animals being washed into the ocean.  If coastal waters are brown, stay out.
