Man hospitalized, woman arrested following Kapaa cemetery stabbing

KAPAA, KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) -
A Kapaa woman was arrested in connection with a stabbing that happened Wednesday afternoon at St. Catherine's cemetery in Kapaa.
Police located the 31-year-old suspect, Sherryl Medina Llego, at her home that evening and arrested her for one count of First Degree Assault.
Patrol officers were called to the Wilcox Hospital emergency room at around 5 p.m. after the 33-year-old male victim was transported there by friends. The man suffered internal injuries and underwent surgery at the hospital, where he remains in serious condition.
The victim identified Llego as the suspect and reported that the incident occurred shortly after 2 p.m.
Llego is currently being held at Police Cellblock in lieu of $20,000 bail.
