Two arrested following Kapaa burglary

KAPAA, KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Police arrested two men Wednesday in connection with a burglary that occurred at a Kapaa home late Tuesday night.

Officers were called to the home on Inia Street shortly after midnight on New Year's Eve, when residents realized several of their items were missing, including money orders, musical instruments, a laptop computer and other electronics.

Patrol officers then located three men in the area in possession of the items reported stolen.

All three suspects were initially taken into custody, but one man was released pending further investigation.

Nolan Kaleimamahu, age 26 of Anahola, was arrested on one count of Theft in the second degree. His bail was set at $1,000.

Jacob Mahuka, age 22 of Kapaa, was arrested on one count of Burglary in the first degree and one count of Theft in the second degree. His bail was set at $6,000.

Both suspects remain in Police Cellblock today in lieu of the stated bail.
