HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii gas price averages increased over the past week throughout most of the islands, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch.
The state average of $3.94 is two cents more than last week, a penny more than last month and a nickel less than on this day last year.
Honolulu's average price is $3.84 a gallon for regular unleaded – up four cents from last week, a penny more than last month and eight cents less than a year ago. In Hilo, the average gas price is $3.90 per gallon, two cents less than last week, four cents more than last month and four cents less than this time a year ago. Wailuku's average is $4.21 a gallon, a penny more than last week, three cents more than last month and 20 cents less on this day last year.
"A look in the New Year at monthly price averages around the U.S. show Alaska at $3.65 a gallon for unleaded, California at $3.66, Oklahoma at $3.06 and Montana at $3.00," said AAA Hawaii General Manager Liane Sumida.
