Hawaii explodes past Norfolk St. for best start in 9 years

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Garrett Nevels erupted for 21 points and shot 4-of-5 from three-point land as Hawaii defeated Norfolk State, 77-66, Monday night at the Stan Sheriff Center.

With the win, Hawaii moves to 10-3, the team's best start since the 2004-05 season.  The Rainbow Warriors have also won eight of its last nine games.

UH junior forward Christian Standhardinger led all players with 29 points and he shot 12-of-14 from the free throw line.

Hawaii is back on the court Friday night against Omaha.
