Bows hold off St. Mary's at Diamond Head Classic

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - This time the ball bounced in favor of the Rainbow Warrior Basketball team.

Christian Standhardinger swished a 15-foot jumper with 1.4 seconds remaining to propel the Bow's (8-3) past St. Mary's (9-2) Monday, 76-74, during day two of the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic.

This came on the heels of watching a Garrett Nevels' 3pt-attempt fall short against Boise State in a 62-61 loss, Sunday night.

Standhardinger scored a team-high 22 points while Isaac Fotu chipped in 13 for Hawaii who nearly let a 9-point second half lead slip away.

Instead, Hawaii will host Oregon State on Christmas day in the fifth place game. Tip off is set for 11am HST.
