Flags to fly at half-staff for Loretta Fuddy

Gov. Neil Abercrombie has ordered that the flags of the United States and State of Hawaii be flown at half-staff in memory of the late Loretta Fuddy.

Fuddy, the director of Hawaii's Department of Health, was killed last week in a plane crash off Kalaupapa. The results of the cause of her death are still pending.

Flags will be half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Saturday, Dec. 21, the day of her memorial service.

Director Fuddy was first appointed to the Governor's Cabinet in December 2010 as first deputy director of the Hawaii Department of Health and then as its director on March 2, 2011.

Memorial services are set for Saturday, December 21, 2013 in Kalihi at the Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa with public visitation schedule at 9 a.m. Mass at 11 a.m. and a private burial service to follow.
