Inouye pharmacy college gets Thai exchange program

HILO, Hawaii (AP) - The University of Hawaii at Hilo's pharmacy school and a university in Thailand are establishing an exchange program.

The agreement between the Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy and Rangsit University will give Hilo students in the fourth year of pharmacy school a chance to go to Thailand for their Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences.

Rangsit Ph.D. students will have an opportunity to come to Hawaii to work in the Inouye college's laboratories.

The college said in a statement Tuesday the agreement also allows faculty to collaborate on research and work with professional pharmacists.

Rangsit University is located directly north of Bangkok.

This is the second agreement between the Hilo pharmacy school and a Thai university. The first was signed in 2011.
