WAYNE COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -

The vigil held on Sunday evening was bound by heartbreak and grief over the death of 9-year-old Reann Murphy-- dearly departed Saturday night -- brutally killed -- according to police by the neighbor down the street.

Reann's father was comforted by friends in the freezing cold at the vigil.  Hours earlier authorities announced their intentions for the man accused of killing his beloved child.

"We are looking at aggravated murder in the morning," says the Wayne County Sheriff's department.

According to Wayne County Sheriff Travis Hutchinson, Jerrod Metsker and Murphy were seen together at the mobile park on Saturday before she went missing.

Murphy was last seen playing outside in a shared area within the mobile park at 5:30 p.m.

She was reported missing around 8:30 p.m.

Deputies began searching the area and found the girl's body inside of a dumpster located in a courtyard in the middle of the mobile home park.

Police said Metsker didn't respond when they knocked at his door, but a nearby relative let them inside with a key.

The suspect reportedly does not live alone.

"There is a lot of information that has to come from this," said Dan Lutz, Wayne County Prosecutor.

Lutz said that the cause of death and other specific details will not be released while the investigation is underway.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.

Police say a video arraignment for Metsker will be held on Monday morning.
