LIHUE, KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) -
A Brown water advisory has been issued for Kauai.
The Clean Water Branch of the State Department of Health says heavy storm water flow has occurred in Waimea, Nawiliwili and Hanalei.
Officials advise the public to stay out of flood waters and storm water runoff due to possible overflowing cesspools, pesticides and other flood debris.
The Clean Water Branch also says treated effluent from the Waimea Wastewater Treatment Plant has been discharged into Kikiaola Harbor. Warning signs are posted and the public is advised to stay out of harbor waters.
