BYU-Hawaii falls short in NCAA D2 title game

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - BYU-Hawaii's magical championship run to a disappointing end Saturday.

The fourth-ranked Seasiders lost in straight sets to #3 Concordia-St. Paul (15-25, 14-25, 20-25) in the title game of the NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Championships.

BYU-Hawaii outside hitter Stella Chen had racked up 58 kills in the previous two matches, but the Golden Bears held her to only nine as Concordia won its seventh consecutive national title.

The loss also snaps the Seasiders' 22-match win streak.
