WESTOVER 58, LEE COUNTY 51 (boys)
It seemed to take the Patriots about 14 minutes to wake up, but once they did, they took control of the game.
Westover hit the road, fresh off a survival win over rival Monroe Friday night.
Dallis Smith's squad seemed to still be shell shocked.
Lee County forced several Patriot mistakes in the first quarter to lead by three heading into the second.
Trojans' guard Quan Jamison hit a tough and-one layup early in the second to build a five-point lead.
That seemed to wake up the Patriots, who went on a run to close the gap and take the lead.
Michael Green got fouled as he knocked down a three pointer with less than 30 seconds remaining in the half to give Westover a five-point lead at intermission.
WESTOVER 47, LEE COUNTY 32 (girls)
No Lewis Smith, no problem for the Lady Patriots.
Smith missed Saturday's game after being ejected Friday night for two technical fouls in a loss to Monroe.
Westover made up for Smith's absence on the bench with a stifling defense on the court.
The Lady Pats' press forced several Lee County turnovers, and allowed the Lady Trojans only 14 points over the final three quarters.
Achanti Layfield led the way for Westover with 20 points.
