Firefighters in Chicopee help disabled child

A group of firefighters from Chicopee spent part of Tuesday building a handicapped accessible ramp for a disabled boy on Wheatland Avenue.

The 12-year-old boy has lived with his grandparents since he was born.

Firefighters were well acquainted with the young man since they had taken him to hospital on several occasions and had to carry him in and out of the home.

Teddy Bear Pools in Chicopee and the Moose Family Lodge helped support the efforts.
