Chicopee Comp custodian charged with sexual abuse on student

A custodian at Chicopee Comprehensive High School has been charged with sexual abuse of a student.

Timothy Lynch, of Chicopee, faces charges including indecent assault and battery on a child 14 or over, assault to rape a child, dissemination of obscene material to a minor, distribution of a Class D substance, distribution of drug paraphernalia and enticing a child under 16.

In court documents obtained by CBS 3, the victim, a 14-year-old male student, said the 54-year-old allegedly offered him snacks, money, marijuana and a paid cell phone in exchange for sexual favors.

The student said Lynch befriended him back in November 2012 while he was waiting for his ride after school.

The two were in contact for a span of a year until this past November when Lynch was arrested after an investigation by police and the Hampden District Attorney's Office.

The records state the boy is no longer a student at the high school.

CBS 3 dug deeper into the documents and found there may be more victims.

They state Lynch would tell the student, "... he's done things with another student at Chicopee Comp HS who graduated this year."

The records continue to read Lynch would tell "stories about giving money to his own foster children in exchange for sexual favors."

There was no answer at Lynch's Lorimor Street home Monday night.

He was arraigned in Chicopee District Court on Dec. 2.

Superintendent of Schools Richard Rege told our media partner, Republican, that as soon as the school department was notified of Lynch's arrest, he was placed on paid administrative leave and barred from entering school property.

Lynch is do back in court on Dec. 31.
