Pier worker critically injured at Young Brothers in Honolulu

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A woman was critically injured Monday morning while working for Young Brothers as a contracted security officer.

The accident happened shortly before 10 a.m at Pier 39 in Honolulu. According to first responders, the woman received serious injuries to her upper body.

The victim, said to be in her 40s, was transported to the Queen's Medical Center in critical condition.

Glenn Hong, President of Young Brothers, Ltd., provided the following statement:

A contracted security officer working at Young Brothers was seriously injured in Honolulu this morning when she was struck by the vehicle of a commercial trucking company at our Nimitz security gate at Pier 39/40. Emergency responders arrived quickly to the site to aid the injured worker. Our thoughts and prayers are with her for a full and speedy recovery, as well as with her family, co-workers and everyone affected. We take the safety of our operations very seriously, and we are cooperating with the Honolulu Police Department to ensure it has all information that may be helpful in relation to this accident.
