CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A court appearance for a woman accused of running over her friend.

Shamanique Bryant appeared before a Cleveland Municipal Judge Monday for a bizarre deadly crash over the weekend.

Cleveland police say just before 3 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7., Bryant and her friend Mattie Stubbs were outside the Park Avenue Lounge in East Cleveland where Bryant's brother was shot.  Bryant was driving her brother to the hospital with Stubbs riding as a passenger.

Police say Bryant rear ended a car near E. 118th and Euclid Ave. and Stubbs was ejected from the car while Bryant kept driving down Euclid to drop her brother off at the hospital.

Police say Bryant returned a short while later and ran over her friend, who was still lying in the street.

Stubbs died on scene.

Bryant, who does not have a driver's license, has been charged with aggravated vehicular homicide and felony leaving the scene of an accident.  OVI charges will be filed following test results.

She pleaded not guilty and is being held on a $500,000 bond.
