Water service for restrooms, showers to be shut down at Sand Island park

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Water service for showers and restrooms will be unavailable at the Sand Island Recreational Area as crews conduct repairs to its water system Friday near the park's entrance.

Doonwood Engineering will be replacing worn parts of a blackflow preventer from 7:30 a.m. to about noon, according to the Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of State Parks.

The park will remain open, but showers and restrooms will be closed until repairs are completed.
