Wappapello Festival of Lights Tour is canceled for Saturday, December 14.

The STAR Awards banquet that was to be held on Tuesday, Dec. 10 has been rescheduled to Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 10 a.m. at the KC Hall in Jackson.

The Red Star Baptist Church women's Christmas luncheon scheduled for Dec. 14 has been canceled.

Vintage Marketplace Shabby Chic to Antique in Jackson, Mo. has canceled its Open House for Saturday Dec. 7 from 9am-9pm and has rescheduled all the events to Sat. Dec. 14 9am-9pm instead.

Immaculate Conception Church in Jackson has postponed the Christmas the concert to Sunday, Jan. 5 at 3 p.m.

The Breakfast with Santa that was scheduled for Saturday has been rescheduled for next Saturday from 8am-10:30am at Orchard Dr Elementary in Jackson.

The SAT test scheduled for at Poplar Bluff High School for Dec. 7 has been postponed to Dec. 21.

Cape First Church Kids Christmas Production scheduled for Sunday, December 8, has been postponed until Sunday, December 15. The Dress Rehearsal scheduled for December 7 has been moved to Saturday, December 14 from 2-5pm. The KidsLife production of "The Christmas Story" will be presented on Sunday, December 15, during our regular 9am and 11am services.

Due to the weather the Heartland Talent Showcase Christmas Talent Show has been rescheduled for Saturday, December 28th. It will still be at First Christian Church in Chaffee, MO. at 2pm. Registration has been extended until Thursday, December 26th. They can register online at www.heartlandtalentshowcase.com

The SAT scheduled for Saturday at Central High School in Cape Girardeau, Mo. has been rescheduled for Saturday, December 21.

The December 14th administration of the ACT, scheduled to be given at Twin Rivers High School, has been canceled due to inclement weather

Cantata for Sunday at Lilbourn United Methodist Church is postponed until Dec. 22

The Plowshares Sale at Abbey Road Christian Church in Cape Girardeau scheduled for Saturday has been postponed to Saturday, December 14 from 8 am to 1 p.m..

Stoddard County Shop with a Hero that was scheduled for Sunday has been postponed until Thursday, December 12 at 6 and 6:30 p.m.

Faith Family Worship Center in Piedmont, Missouri will not open its new church on Sunday, Dec. 8. The first service will be Dec. 15.

The Lutheran Family and Children Services Home Tour in Cape Girardeau has been rescheduled to Dec. 14.

Advent by candlelight at St. Paul Church in Jackson has been rescheduled for Dec. 15.

First Baptist Church of Fremont, Mo., has rescheduled their Christmas program for Sunday, Dec. 22, at 4 p.m.

The SEMO Victims Impact Panels are held monthly at the Butler County Courthouse. A DWI VIP scheduled for Monday evening on Dec. 9 is rescheduled to Monday evening on Dec. 16, same time & location (Registration for those required to attend at 5:30 p.m. and program start time of 6pm. Held on the 3rd floor in the Division 1 Courtroom.)

Winter Wonderland of Treasures Sale has been postponed from this Saturday, December 7, and will be held on Saturday, December 14, at the St. Denis Parish Center, Benton, MO, from 8 a.m. till 2 p.m.

Perryville Methodist Church's craft fair, bake sale, and Christmas bazaar will be postponed to Saturday, December 14.

Chaffee Christmas Parade postponed until Saturday, December 14 at 1 p.m.

Excelsior Masonic Lodge of Jackson Annual Chili Day set for Saturday is canceled & rescheduled for Saturday, December 21.

St. Mary Cathedral CCW Bake/Craft Sale in Cape Girardeau, Mo. has been canceled and rescheduled for December 14 and 15.

Madison County Sheltered Workshop will remain open with No Transportation provided.

The Pediatric Edge Open House in Cape Girardeau has been rescheduled from December 7 to January 4, 9:30am-11.

United Methodist Children's Home Live Nativity and Festival of Trees will be rescheduled to Friday, December 13, 5:30pm-8:30pm, due to inclement weather.

Dexter Parents as Teacher's "Breakfast with Santa" will be moved from this Saturday morning to next Saturday, Dec 14 from 9am - 11am.

Jackson Jaycee's and the JACoC postpone Christmas Parade to December 14. 

Eagles District # 5 monthly meeting scheduled for Saturday, December 7 at 2 PM at Sikeston has been rescheduled for Saturday December 14, 2013 at 2 PM at Sikeston.

Old Town Cape's Downtown Christmas Open House has been postponed to next Friday, Dec. 13 from 5-9.

The Family Night event "Santa at the Depot" has been rescheduled. Santa will be at the Sikeston Depot Friday, December 13.

The Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce have canceled the Christmas Parade to Saturday December 14 due to the threat of winter weather. For more information, contact The Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce at 573-243-8131.

Due to the forecast of inclement weather, the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri, and other arts galleries in Downtown Cape, will postpone the First Friday with the Arts event to Friday, December 13 from 5 to 9 p.m.

Rusty Newton's Saturday Social, scheduled for Saturday, December 7, will also be postponed to the following week. The rescheduled date for the Holiday painting themed workshop will be on Saturday, December 14 from 1 - 3 p.m..


Murphysboro's Smoky Hollow String Band will present its third annual "Old Timey Christmas" Saturday, Dec. 21, at the John A. Logan Museum of Murphysboro. The band will play carols and Christmas tunes with fiddles, banjo, guitar, percussion, and washtub bass in a concert beginning at 7 p.m. in the gallery of the museum. Light refreshments will be served. Admission will be $10 for adults; children 12 and younger free. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the museum.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will host their annual Community Christmas Nativity Concert at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 7168 Old Route 13, Carbondale, on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 7:00 p.m..

Carbondale Grace United Methodist Church's Holiday Handbell Concert scheduled for 3pm on Sunday, Dec 8 has been canceled and rescheduled for Sunday, Dec 15 at 3pm at the church.

The Harrisburg lights parade has been moved to the Saline County Fairgrounds for Dec. 12 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be no parade route, but the floats will be available for viewing at the fairgrounds. Anyone with questions can call Jamie Evans at 618-841-3090.

The 23rd Annual Lights Fantastic Parade in Carbondale scheduled for Saturday evening (December 7) has been canceled. The Lights Fantastic Committee would like to express their deepest sadness that the Parade will not happen this year. However the Committee is currently considering options for some type of Lights Fantastic Float Viewing Event for next Saturday night, December 14th at 6:00 p.m. More details of this event will be forthcoming as soon as possible.

Canning Auction in Murphysboro has closed its 28th annual winter auction due to bad weather. They have rescheduled the auction for Dec. 21.

Patches Dolls in Cairo, IL is postponing their Redbird Tea Party to Sunday, December 15.

The Anna First Church of the Nazarene Children's Christmas Program and Thanksgiving/Christmas Potluck will be held on Sunday, December 15.

The date for the Alternative Gift Fair is changed to Saturday, Dec. 14 from 2-5 p.m. at the Carbondale Civic Center, 200 S. Illinois Ave, Carbondale.

All MADRIGAL FEASTE shows at Southeastern Illinois College for this weekend have been canceled. The shows are rescheduled for Friday, December 13 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. Please call Kellye Whitler at 841-4649 to choose your night.

Sensitive Santa Community Event Scheduled for December 7 at SIU Student Center has been rescheduled until December 14.

Southeastern Illinois College Coal Mining classes for this weekend have been canceled and rescheduled for next weekend December 14 and 15.


Due the significant amount of snow and ice, the Paducah Parks Services Department is postponing the annual City of Paducah Christmas Parade. The parade will be held on Saturday, December 14 at 5 p.m. Parks Services requests that all participants in this year's parade to call the office to confirm their participation before 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10. Confirmation is necessary since a new parade line-up will be made. Also, there are openings for additional parade entries. Anyone interested in entering a float in the Christmas Parade will need to contact Parks Services before 3 p.m. on December 10. The Candy Cane Hunt will also be postponed until Saturday, December 14.

Victory Celebration planned at Mayfield High School is postponed. The will celebrate the Mayfield Cardinals 10th State Championship at a time to be determined.

A Trivia Night benefit to help the Paducah Tilghman Band of Blue fund its trip to the 2014 TaxSlayer.com Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Fla., on New Year's Day, has been postponed to Saturday, Dec. 14.

The Graves County School District's holiday concert Candy Cane Classics has been postponed, due to inclement weather, from Dec. 7 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21. It will be presented in the Graves County Schools' Performing Arts Center, adjacent to Graves County High School.


The University of Tennessee at Martin's main campus and centers in Jackson, Parsons, Selmer and Ripley will be open on a regular schedule for Monday, Dec. 9. The university's original final exam schedule will be followed starting Monday and through the remainder of the week. Fall commencement is set for 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 14, in the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center.


The Morthland College Patriots men's basketball game against Crowley's Ridge College in Paragould, Arkansas has been rescheduled for Thursday, January 23rd in Paragould. The 4-3 Patriots are scheduled to play this Saturday, December 7th against St. Louis Christian College in St. Louis.
