WAIANAE, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -
The state Department of Health has issued a brown water advisory for parts of Oahu following heavy rain Sunday.
The areas from Nanakuli Beach Park to Waianae Boat Harbor on the island of Oahu are under the advisory. Earlier heavy rains have resulted in stormwater runoff entering into coastal waters, officials say.
The public is advised to stay out of flood waters and storm water runoff due to possible overflowing cesspools, sewer manholes, pesticides, animal fecal matter, dead animals, pathogens, chemicals, and associated flood debris.
