63-year old man injured after fall near Maui lookout

WAILUKU, MAUI (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A 63-year old man was injured after officials say he fell approximately 25 feet near Pali Lookout on Maui.

The Maui Fire Department received the alarm call shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday night. Crews responded to find the man with sore ribs and back pain.

Rescue personnel were able to locate the man and hike him out of the area after providing first aid. Offiicals say it was a difficult rescue because of the "very rocky terrain and elevation."

The man was transported to Maui Memorial Medical Center in stable condition.
