HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The driver of a dump truck escaped with minor injuries after officials say he jumped out before the truck rolled off the side of a cliff on Pali Highway near Kapena Falls.
Honolulu Fire Department officials say it happened around 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
They say failing truck brakes were the cause of the crash. Officials say the driver attempted to put on the parking brake and pull into a lookout area. Officials say the truck was traveling approximately 10 mph when it struck a rock wall before rolling over the cliff into a ravine.
No other injuries were reported.
