Driver hurt in fiery crash in Joelton

A driver has been hospitalized after a messy crash in Joelton early Sunday morning.

The man was driving down Old Clarksville Road around 3:15 am when he ran into a tree.

The force of the impact flipped the car and it landed in a resident's front yard.

The vehicle caught fire, but the driver was able to escape the vehicle and laid down in the grass to wait for paramedics.

Several car parts, including the engine and transmission, were scattered all over the property.

Homeowner Roger Meadows says emergency crews responded quickly, and extinguished fire in about 15 minutes.

The driver was taken to Vanderbilt hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No details about his condition have been released.
