Flash Flood Warning issued for Kauai

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Kauai until 3:30 p.m.

  • At 12:18 pm, a Gage on the Hanalei River indicated a rapid rise in the water level that will lead to flooding at the Hanalei bridge across Kuhio Highway. Heavy showers continue to fall over the Interior as well.

  • Other locations in the warning include but are not limited to Haena, Wainiha, Na Pali State Park, Moloaa, Kalalau Valley. Princeville, Kilauea and Hanalei. This Flash Flood Warning replaces the Flood Advisory that was in effect for the island of Kauai in Kauai County. This warning may need to be extended beyond 3:30 pm if Flash Flooding persists.
