(Hawaii News Now) - Palama Settlement is hosting its inaugural Malama Palama Gala on Saturday, November 9, 2013. The 117-year-old organization will honor two community volunteers, Mrs. Cecilia Blackfield and Skippa Diaz, whom have been dedicated to Palama Settlement throughout the years.
Funds raised from the event will help get Palama Settlement open again on weekends when the neighborhood keiki and youth most need the programs and services. In addition, funds will help keep two of the 1924 era buildings safe and sound.
The gathering will include a night of music, a silent auction prior to dinner and performances by Palama Settlement fire-knife dancers, Taimane Gardner, and Dukes of Surf courtesy of Tihati Productions.
