Judge rejects same-sex marriage temporary restraining order

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Circuit Court Judge on Thursday rejected a request for a temporary restraining order to stop lawmakers from moving forward on same-sex marriage legislation.

Representative Bob McDermott filed the lawsuit.

Judge Karl Sakamoto did invite the plaintiffs to return to his court as soon as any legislation is passed in order to address the constitutionality of the 1998 constitutional amendment on marriage, which was passed overwhelmingly by the people.

We will have more on Jude Sakamoto's decision on HawaiiNewsNow.com.
