Siren testing planned for Thursday, Friday on Oahu

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - State Civil Defense officials will be testing newly installed sirens between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the following locations on Thursday and Friday.

Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013:
Kahe Point
Moanalua Board of Water Supply 

Friday, Nov. 8, 2013:
Kakaako Makai Gateway Park (Old Kewalo Basin)
Kapaolono Field

Residents in these areas may hear the sirens sound for 30 seconds during the identified time periods. The technicians will use data gathered from these tests to verify operational status.

Oahu residents may call State Civil Defense at (808) 733-4300 if they have any questions or concerns regarding this test. Contact the City and County of Honolulu Department of Emergency Management at (808) 723-8960 to report routine siren operations issues.
