Weather Forecast:

A few lingering showers this morning, but most of the moisture is being pushed offshore by land breezes. As the sun rises, you will notice high clouds that will filter and block much of our sunshine today. Convective heating will darken skies over interior and leeward neighborhoods this afternoon (like yesterday) and some brief heavy showers are possible. High today in Honolulu will be 84 degrees.

Top Stories:

The state House of Representatives will vote on an amended same-sex marriage bill on Friday. Ramsay Wharton will be live with the very latest on what's happening at the Capitol.

Hawaii News Now has exclusively learned that Joseph Kahawai is a person of interest in the case of Janine Meyer. Her body was found in a Waikiki dumpster last month at Ena Road and Hobron Lane. He will be in court today.

Want immediate traffic alerts via text in the morning? Sign up by texting "HNNTraffic" to "H-N-N 8-0-8" and Rachel Pacarro will send out information about accidents, stalls and road closures. Data rates apply.

What in the world does the Sunrise crew do during commercial breaks? Unbeknownst to us, our producers were recording when we thought we were OFF camera. You can see the video in our 6am hour. Uh oh!
