Local Connection: Na Koa Fundraiser To Help Student Athletes

Some of the biggest football programs in the country don't scrimp when it comes to making sure its athletes enjoy healthy meals.

Eating the right food, along with strength and endurance training, can bring a team considerable advantage on the playing field. Our athletes should be sound in mind and body.

I love UH football and I invite you to watch a special fundraiser to upgrade UH's training table and nutrition program. On Wednesday, august 21st, from 7 to 10 pm, we will be live on KFVE for a special fundraiser presented by the Na Koa football club and Hawaii News Now. The goal is to pay for a considerable upgrade and expansion of the food selection available to the players, including snacks and foods they can take with them after each training table meal. Please join the rainbow warriors, coach chow and his assistant coaches, mike cherry, mark carpenter, Steve Uyehara and myself as we seek to raise a few dollars for our deserving young men. Hope to see you Wednesday night.
