Summer program helps students become innovators

(HawaiiNewsNow) - More than 30 Oahu public and private school students created and produced innovative business projects during Camp BizGym, a week-long BizGym Foundation program, held earlier this summer at Mid-Pacific Institute. The camp featured mentoring workshops on script writing, shooting and editing  to help these young entrepreneurs produce and implement a viral media strategy and develop a fundraising campaign for their ideas.

This year's Camp BizGym business ideas include a Native Hawaiian games mobile app, a shave ice food truck, an "Omiyage Box," a family board game, night surfing lights, an instant mochi mix, a bio-thermal cooling shirt and a tropical lemonade line.

Steve Sue, founder of Camp BizGym, as well as the group that created "Omiyage" stopped by the "Sunrise" studio to give us more information about the program as well as the concept behind "Omiyage."
