Weather Forecast:

Trade winds will strengthen today and stay in the breezy category through the weekend. Showers will be a little more frequent, falling mainly windward and mauka and mainly nights and mornings. The stronger trades will bring the moisture to leeward sides from time to time. High today in Honolulu will be 86 degrees.

A reinforcing NW swell rolled in overnight and wave sizes are just big enough to maintain the High Surf Advisory through 6:00pm tonight. Caution along north and west shores of Kauai and just north shores of Oahu and Molokai.

Top Stories:

After a 14 hour marathon of public testimony on same sex marriage, lawmakers may be waking up bleary eyed this morning. They're not done yet. There was a last minute rush of people signing up. Ramsay Wharton will be live at the Capitol tracking the very latest in the political fight.

Kanaha beach on Maui is still closed this morning after a shark attack. Maui officials tell us that a kiteboarder was about 300 yards of Kaa point when he was bitten in the calf. We'll have witness accounts on Sunrise.

What's Hawaii Fry-o? It's a dessert created by a local man. He'll dish it up in our kitchen. See Steve's reaction to it in our 7am hour on KGMB.
