HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

St. Louis School graduate and Oregon Ducks quarterback Marcus Mariota will appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated this week, according to the magazine's Twitter account.

Mariota, a Heisman Trophy hopeful who helms the second-ranked team in all of college football, appears beneath a headline that reads "The Colossus," previewing an article about Oregon's recent success.

The photo that appears on the cover was taken during Oregon's game against the University of Washington on October 12.

Oregon has a bye this weekend before playing sixth-ranked Stanford next Thursday.
