AIEA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A man shot by Honolulu Police Tuesday night remains hospitalized, under guard.

35-year old Amery Kahale-Sugimura was already out on bail when he allegedly ran from police, first on a stolen motorcycle, then, on foot, after crashing the bike.

Police say Kahale-Sugimura tried to getaway by breaking into a home near Alvah Scott Elementary School in Aiea.   He punched the 68-year old man who lives in the home, then took the keys to his truck.  Police say Kahale-Sugimura tried to run over two officers with the pickup and that's when four officers fired.  Kahale-Sugimura has multiple gunshot wounds.

He has been in and out of prison since he turned 18, with 14 felony convictions.  Most, property crimes.  He uses the alias, Jon Edward Dudoit.

He was already out on bail for an incident last month.  Police say he was on a stolen motorcycle on that day and crashed, then, fought with the arresting officers.  Trial for that case is set for November 25th.

He faces a long list of new charges including attempted murder, burglary and criminal property damage.
