The past 24 hours have been an emotional roller coaster for Kolten Wong.

After getting a hit, stealing a base, and making an amazing catch in his World Series debut Saturday night, the former University of Hawaii second baseman is trying to forget a costly mistake that ended game 4 Sunday in St. Louis.

With two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, Wong was picked off at first base and the Boston Red Sox tied the series at two games apiece after defeating the Cardinals, 4-2, at Busch Stadium.

Maui native Shane Victorino was scratched from the lineup before the game due to tightness in his back.  Red Sox manager Jonny Gomes took his spot and it paid off.

Gomes hit a three-run homer in the top of the sixth inning to put Boston up 4-1.

It's unknown if Victorino will be back in the lineup for Game 5.

The series continues Monday afternoon.
