(HawaiiNewsNow) - Having unuse and expired medicine in your home can be as dangerous as illegal drug use, according to the Department of Attorney General. This is why the department is partnering with the Drug Enforcement Administration and State Narcotics Enforcement Division for the 7th National Take Back Initiative on Oahu, Kauai, Maui and Hawaii. For this effort, anyone with expired or unused prescription medications will be encouraged to bring them to a collection site on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Howard Shu, supervisory special agent for the DEA, explains more about the initiative.
