KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii (AP) - A new site has been selected for the planned Kona Judiciary Complex.
The state Judiciary said Thursday it has selected a 10-acre parcel in North Kona, which is owned by Queen Liliuokalani Trust.
The Judiciary previously selected state land but an endangered uhi uhi plant was discovered in an adjacent part of the larger parcel where the site is located.
The new site was among those evaluated during the project's environmental impact review.
Officials don't anticipate construction and budget for the project to be significantly impacted by the location change.
