Honolulu (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Rainbow Wahine basketball team was picked second in the Big West preseason poll released Wednesday.
The Bows also received three first-place votes but fell short to Cal Poly who received 17 first-place votes.
Second-year head coach Laura Beeman returns four starters and nine letter winners from last year's squad that posted a 17-14 overall record; a 13-5 conference record; and advanced to the post-season for the first time in 10 years playing in the WNIT.
Senior forward Kamilah Jackson was named to the all-conference team after averaging 15.1 points and 9.8 rebounds per game last season.
Hawaii opens up its season on October 30th when it hosts UH-Hilo.
