LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A local grieving mother wants to face her son's accused killer in court to tell him she forgives him.

FOX5 on Tuesday spoke with Norma Sattiewhite, whose son, Kenneth Brown, was shot and killed early Monday morning at a club inside Bally's casino.

Police said the suspect, Benjamin Frazier, used an unregistered handgun in the shooting of Brown and two employees of the Drai's nightclub, who survived.

According to Sattiewhite, Brown was a club promoter and stand-up comedian who went by the stage name KD Brown. Sattiewhite said she finds peace knowing her son died a hero.

"I came [home] and when I hit the corner to turn in, I saw the coroner's vehicle and I just lost it. I just lost it because I knew it was him," Sattiewhite said.

Sattiewhite said she never got a chance to say goodbye to her son. She later discovered he died attempting to subdue the shooter.

"It hurts deeply. The pain is indescribable," she said.

Police said Frazier, a convicted felon, pulled a revolver on a doorman at the club during a dispute over a $30 cover charge. According to his arrest report, Frazier shot a security officer in the stomach.

When Brown tackled Frazier, he was shot in the neck and chest.

"He is and he was my hero because he gave his life to save someone else, and I believe he saved many lives," Sattiewhite said.

The arrest report says Frazier hit his head during his struggle with Brown. He was taken into custody and transported to a hospital.

Sattiewhite said that despite her son's death, she doesn't hate Frazier.

Brown had two sons, 18 and 19. His funeral arrangements are still being worked out.

Frazier faces charges of murder and attempted murder. He could additionally face charges for possessing an unregistered firearm.
