HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a High Surf Advisory for north and west-facing shores of Oahu, Kauai, Niihau and Molokai, as well as the north-facing shores of Maui.

A northwest swell will bring advisory level surf through Monday night, and the advisory has been issued through 6 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The National Weather Service says surf on north and west-facing shores could reach heights of 12 to 16 feet during that time.

Beach goers can expect strong breaking waves and shorebreak, along with strong longshore and rip currents that will make swimming dangerous and difficult.
