HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -
The Hawaii Health Connector site is finally fully operational, but operators don't know how many people are actually using it to purchase insurance.
At the regular board meeting Friday, Executive Director Coral Andrews reported to members that hundreds of people have completed applications online, but admitted, she didn't know how many people actually purchased a plan.
"They haven't defined what an enrollment is and we need to know that," says Gerry Silva, President of AARP Hawaii.
Silva attended the meeting and says he's disappointed that the Hawaii Health Connector can't provide updated numbers, but he says he will give them more time. He hopes to have more defined information by the end of the month.
The web site just went online on Tuesday, October 15th, more than two weeks after it was supposed to go live. It has since been criticized for being slow and difficult to use.
